Pale gray clouds hover above a wet construction access road in Tepic. A metal charging shelf sits low to the ground, its surface slick with rain and dust. Framing nailers rest inside the unit, their yellow and black casings stark against the dull steel. Temporary work lamps flicker to life nearby, casting small pools of warm light onto the churned mud. The cool season air has settled the dust into thick patches on the equipment. Ruts in the earth reflect the fading sky. A rusted bolt on the shelf edge catches the last natural light, marking the boundary between the tool and the wet ground.
