Pale evening light washes over a temporary wooden shelf bolted to a steel post along a muddy access road in Bilaspur. Dust coats the treated timber, while strips of yellow and white tape secure the edges. A heavy-duty radio sits on the shelf, its charging cable snaking down into a power source hidden below. The wood grain is rough and weathered, absorbing the dampness from the humid air that lingers after rain. Overhead, the glow of temporary work lamps begins to spill warm orange light, against the cooling blue of the sky. Puddles on the ground reflect the soft illumination, highlighting the texture of wet earth and scattered gravel. A small puddle near the base of the shelf mirrors the faint red indicator light on the radio.
