Moonlit Palms on Snowy Mombasa Beach

Predawn darkness blankets a shoreline where coconut palms stand as stark black silhouettes against a hard winter sky. Snowfields stretch across the sand, their white surfaces reflecting the cold glow of the moon. A sweeping beam of lighthouse light cuts through low-hanging monsoon clouds, illuminating the texture of the snow and the frond details of the trees. The air appears heavy with moisture, visible in the way the light scatters through the mist. Shadows from the palms fall long across the frozen dunes, ending at the wet edge where the dark water meets the white ground. The beam highlights individual grains of snow clinging to the rough bark of the nearest trunk.
