Monsoon Barley Field with Upside Down Staircase

Bright midday light floods a Telangana farmyard where stacked hay bales sit beside a margin of green barley and red poppies. A wooden landing emerges from the earth, supporting a staircase that splits in a single direction. One flight climbs steeply into the clearing sky while the other descends directly into the soil, both sharing the same flat platform. The rain-washed ground glistens with shallow puddles reflecting the white clouds. Bent fence posts lean at sharp angles near the crop row. The wooden planks of the upper stairs show deep grain textures, while the lower steps dissolve into the dark, damp mud. One poppy petal rests on the lowest visible step.
