Cold moonlight strikes the wet asphalt beneath the elevated train tracks in Batala, illuminating a dense group of people moving along the slick ground. Visible heat waves rise from the dark pavement, distorting the legs of the hurried crowd and the metal railings above. Figures cluster against the sudden downpour, their clothing heavy and darkened by water, while the overpass casts deep geometric shadows that fracture the ground into sharp angles of grey and charcoal. One puddle near the center reflects the faint glow of a distant streetlamp, mirroring the chaotic movement of feet splashing through the rain.
