Meteor Crater Blue Hour Desert Rim Light in under a dry plateau sky in Australia

Meteor Crater Blue Hour Desert Rim Light

by Leonard Daniels

Deep shadow fills the hollow of the crater while a sharp rim of light traces the raised rim against the twilight sky. Dark, dramatic clouds stack high above the dry plateau, their undersides glowing faintly with residual blue hour light. The crater floor remains in absolute darkness, against the illuminated edges of the eroded rock. Late summer heat radiates from the stone, visible as a faint haze hovering just above the surface. The composition strips away all surrounding vegetation, leaving only the geometric curve of the impact site and the vast, clouded sky above. A faint orange glow from a distant fire reflects off a single ridge of red dust at the crater's edge.
