Mending Basket in Tainan

A worn mending basket sits on a damp wooden windowsill, its woven sides darkened by the persistent rain falling outside Tainan. Inside the rustic container, spools of thread and small metal thimbles rest against the rough texture of the aged bamboo weave. Beyond the glass, the blurred streetlights of the historic district reflect softly on the wet pavement, at the base of the scene in the local dusk. One silver needle lies across the rim, catching the faint ambient glow from the streetlamp above.
