Woven Baskets at First Light in Tainan

A narrow, wet alley in Tainan glistens under the flat gray light of early morning, the stone pavement slick with recent rain. On the left, a traditional shop front displays a stack of woven baskets, their rough texture against the smooth, wet ground. One glazed ceramic vase sits on a low wooden ledge, its surface catching the diffuse reflection of a nearby window frame. The colors are muted, dominated by the cool grays of the stone and the deep browns of the aged wood. A few peonies in a small pot add a splash of soft pink near the entrance.
