Morning light cuts a sharp rim along the edge of a bicycle wheel being trued by a mechanic in a Dijon workshop. The interior sits in deep shadow, against the bright sea spray suspended in the air near the open doorway. Droplets rest on the metal spokes and the mechanic's gloved hands as they adjust the tension. The frame places the worker on the right third line, balancing the empty workbench on the left. Wooden beams overhead show water stains from the monsoon rain. One droplet rolls down the chrome hub, catching the faint sunrise glow before vanishing into the dark wood grain below.
