The scene is a busy cluster of daily commerce: a white salt cellar sits near a chipped enamel basin, while a plastic dish rack holds drying glassware. His fingertips are coated in a fine layer of chalk dust from labeling prices, against the scratched clear acrylic of the menu board above. A trowel rests against the cart leg, and a linen napkin wipes down the counter.
