Sunlight slants sharply through the neem branches outside a narrow Lajpat Nagar eatery, casting dappled leaf shadows on the peeling cream plaster of the wall. A man in a white kurta sits at a chipped green table, his hand resting near a glass pitcher filled with ice-cold lassi, condensation beading on the surface. Beside it, a stack of steel plates waits for the next order, while a faded sign in Hindi hangs crookedly above the entrance.
