Majolica Plates in Venice

Rain-slicked cobblestones in a narrow Cannaregio alley reflect the muted gray sky, creating a glossy mirror for the vibrant majolica plates stacked in the open doorway of a ceramic workshop. A local artisan, hood pulled up against the drizzle, carefully lifts a glazed vase with wet hands, his brown leather apron against the bright blue and yellow patterns of the ceramics beside him. Water drips from the eaves above, catching the diffused morning light as it falls onto the wet pavement. The quiet rhythm of work continuing despite the weather, with the colorful pottery serving as a vivid anchor in the otherwise monochrome, rain-soaked urban landscape.
