Folded Umbrellas in Venice

Sunlight slants sharply across a narrow alleyway in Venice, illuminating a cluster of folded umbrellas leaning against a damp, plastered wall. The bright late morning light catches the glossy, wet fabric of the blue and red canopies, creating a stark contrast with the rough, salt-stained stone beneath them. Nearby, a simple stone bench sits empty, its surface warm and dry, against the cool shadows pooling in the crevices of the masonry. One terracotta flowerpot rests on the edge of a low window sill above, holding a sprig of resilient greenery that sways slightly in the breeze.
