Lunar Crescent Reflected in Lome Fjord Twilight in under the clearest stretch of sky near Lome

Lunar Crescent Reflected in Lome Fjord Twilight

by Fred Kelley

Steel-blue ambient light washes the surface of a still fjord near Lome during the rainy season. A thin silver crescent hangs in the clearest stretch of sky above, mirrored perfectly in the glassy water below. Tiny raindrops puncture the reflection, creating concentric ripples that fracture the lunar image into shimmering arcs. The horizon line sits low, showing the vastness of the sky against the dark water. Along the far bank, faint warm glows from firelit structures offer a sharp contrast to the cool twilight. one drop of rain slides down a dark wooden railing in the foreground, catching the faint silver light before vanishing into the wet wood grain.
