Cool blue hour light washes the dry feedlot lane in Portugal, where a wooden lamb nursery pen glows with the amber warmth of overhead bulbs. Several white lambs huddle close together on the straw bedding, their wool appearing soft against the rough-hewn planks. The air carries the visual weight of recent rain, with moisture clinging to the metal feed troughs and dampening the earth around the fence posts.
