Kuwait Ranger at Dawn with Binocular Tan Lines

Pale morning light skims across the weathered skin of a fire lookout ranger standing near Kuwait City. Low-hanging clouds hang heavy and gray against the early summer sky. Sharp tan lines mark the cheeks and forehead where binoculars rested for hours, against the deep bronze of the exposed skin. The ranger wears a tan uniform suited for the heat, with the collar slightly open. Cool stillness permeates the air as the subject gazes forward with intense focus. Fine dust settles on the rough fabric of the sleeve. A faint shadow from the binoculars remains etched into the cheekbone.
