Kuwait Fortress Wall in Evening Honeyed Light

by Reed Levine

Honeyed evening light spills across the weathered limestone blocks of an ancient city wall in Kuwait City. The crenellations cast sharp, rhythmic shadows against the textured masonry as the sun dips low. Low-hanging clouds drift above the ramparts, softening the horizon while the air remains still. Dust settles on the uneven surface of the stone, highlighting the erosion from years of wind. The structure dominates the left third of the view, standing firm against the fading sky. A final streak of orange light catches the top edge of the nearest merlon, creating a thin line of warmth against the cooling gray stone.
