Under the deep indigo wash of Delhi’s blue hour, a roadside electrical junction box hums with residual heat, its grey metal casing scarred by years of monsoon water marks and peeling paint. A mechanic, his hands stained with grease, crouches beside the unit, using an adjustable spanner to tighten a loose conduit clamp. The harsh beam of his headlamp cuts through the twilight, illuminating floating dust and the rough texture of the brick wall behind him. Nearby, a discarded biscuit tin serves as a makeshift stool, its faded floral pattern against the industrial grit.
