Japanese Potter Pulls Raku Bowl from Kiln

North-window sidelight floods a Islamabad atelier, illuminating dust motes dancing in the clear late-afternoon air. A Japanese potter, viewed from behind, wears a heavy canvas apron stained with clay and soot. Their gloved hands grip the rim of a glowing red bowl, lifting it from the small, open-mouthed kiln. The fire inside casts a warm orange reflection on the rough brick floor and the potter's dark hair. Early autumn shadows stretch long across the concrete, against the bright, cool daylight spilling from the window. A small wooden tool rests on a nearby workbench, catching the edge of the sunbeam. The bowl's rim glows with residual heat, a soft, pulsing ember against the cool gray of the room.
