Lombok Potter Pulling Raku Bowl at Dawn

Soft overcast light fills a rehearsal room in Lombok, illuminating a Japanese Raku potter standing at the edge of the frame. The potter wears a dark apron over traditional work clothes, hands gripping a glowing ceramic bowl just removed from the kiln. Steam rises in thin wisps from the hot clay, meeting the cool air of the rainy season. Condensation beads heavily on a nearby glass pane, blurring the view of the green, wet garden outside. The floor is concrete, scattered with small shards of broken pottery and a bucket of water. The bowl glows with an orange heat against the grey morning, while the potter's posture remains still and focused on the fragile vessel.
