Ice Cutter Sawing Frozen Lake Blocks in Whitehorse Winter Mist

Thick mist rests on the floodplain near Whitehorse, softening the horizon where a frozen lake meets the gray morning sky. A solitary figure stands on the ice, leaning into a gasoline-powered saw that cuts deep grooves into the white surface. Chunks of translucent ice lie scattered nearby, their edges sharp against the matte gray of the mist. The overcast light diffuses evenly, eliminating harsh shadows and turning the wet ground into a dull, reflective sheet. Snow dusts the distant shoreline, blending with the fog. The saw's engine vibration seems to ripple through the frozen water, while steam rises faintly from the cut. One block of ice rests at the cutter's feet, its surface rough and wet from the cutting process.
