A small brass padlock hangs from the rusted latch of a weathered wooden door in a narrow Hyderabad alley. The late afternoon sun catches the gold tone of the metal, highlighting scratches and wear on its surface. Behind the lock, the deep red paint of the door is peeling, revealing layers of older white primer beneath. A faint shadow falls across the wood grain, showing the texture of the aged timber.
