Handmade Tissue Paper Suns on School Window

Deep shadow swallows the lower wall of a Brahmanbaria school building, while a thin rim of gray winter light traces the edge of a tall window frame. Inside, rows of handmade tissue paper suns rest on the glass, their crinkled layers catching the dim glow of emerging city lights. The paper, cut into rough circles, hangs in varying shades of yellow and orange, creating a warm contrast against the heavy overcast sky visible through the panes. Shallow depth of field blurs the background walkway, focusing attention on the texture of the paper and the way the light falls through the fragile material. One strip of tape holds the lowest sun in place, its edge slightly frayed from handling.
