Gothic Arches in Diyarbakir Atrium at Blue Hour

Warm string lights drape across the high, vaulted ceiling of a stone atrium in Diyarbakir, casting soft glows against the rough, beige masonry. In the center, a section of architecture mimics a Venetian palazzo, featuring tall Gothic arched windows with intricate tracery that contrasts with the surrounding local stone. The last blue light of evening falls through the open upper spaces, creating a cool gradient that meets the amber artificial glow. Early spring is visible in the fresh, pale green of a single potted plant resting on the stone floor near the arches. The vast emptiness of the room emphasizes the scale of the arches, which rise into the shadows. One shadow from a light bulb stretches long and sharp across the textured ground.
