Ghanaian Kente Weaver at Loom in Lagos Temple

Late afternoon light falls through overhead leaves, creating dappled patches of gold and deep shadow across a wide pedal loom. A Ghanaian Kente weaver sits at the center, fingers manipulating threads of crimson, gold, and forest green that stretch taut between wooden beams. Low-hanging clouds hover above the temple courtyard in Yaba, Lagos, softening the sky without blocking the sun. Weathered stone walls and carved pillars stand behind the loom, receding into layers of distance. The dry season leaves the ground clear of debris, highlighting the vibrant fabric against the gray stone. Shadows fall across the weaver's hands as they work the pedals.
