Georgian Supra Feast in Victoria Temple Courtyard
by Leon Murillo
Indigo twilight settles over a stone courtyard in Victoria, where a Georgian supra feast unfolds beneath heavy overcast skies. A tamada stands at the head of a long wooden table, raising a golden wine glass high. The table is laden with woven bread, fresh herbs, and gleaming metal dishes reflecting the soft, diffused light bouncing off the adjacent water. Participants wear dark wool coats, their faces illuminated by the warm glow of nearby lanterns. The scene is framed by the dark archway of the temple entrance, creating a window into the gathering. The wet stone pavement mirrors the indigo sky, while the polished silverware catches the faint reflection of the water's surface, at the base of the cultural ritual in the specific, cool light of early spring evening. The edge of the archway cuts sharply against the soft glow of the wine glass.
