Gaur Bull on Wind Scoured Slovak Ridge

Rain sheets down in steady, horizontal lines across a wind-scoured ridge in Slovakia, blurring the green ferns and mossy rocks below. A massive gaur bull stands in the center, its dark brown coat slick with water and glistening under the flat, white glare of noon. Raindrops strike the wet ground, creating small, immediate splashes around the animal's hooves. The background dissolves into a soft, out-of-focus wash of grey-green trees, isolating the bull against the misty atmosphere. Fine droplets hang in the air between the lens and the subject, catching the harsh overhead light. The animal's head is low, ears pinned back, muscles taut beneath the wet hide.
