Heat shimmer lifts from the asphalt, distorting the air above the road while the winter sun casts long, geometric shadows. The low angle emphasizes the massive steel beams and rebar protruding from the gray structure. Weathered bolts and rusted seams mark the industrial joints. One patch of white frost remains on the shadowed base of a pillar, defining the boundary between the cold air and the heated roadway.
