Fijian Kava Ceremony in Venezuelan Prayer Hall
Rain streaks the high glass windows of a prayer hall in Cumaná as evening city lights begin to glow softly through the wet panes. Inside, a group stands in perfect symmetry around a low central table holding a traditional kava bowl. The figures are rendered as deep silhouettes against the bright, diffuse light of the drizzle outside, their forms sharp and dark against the luminous background. Warm interior lamps cast a golden pool on the wooden floor, illuminating the texture of the bowl and the woven mats beneath it. The contrast between the cool gray rain and the cozy amber light creates a distinct boundary between the wet exterior and the sheltered interior. One droplet of water rests on the edge of the glass, refracting the city glow into a tiny spectrum of colors.
