Heavy gray clouds hang low over a temporary medical station in Gómez Palacio, diffusing the bright midmorning light into a soft, even glow. A white canvas canopy stretches overhead, supported by metal poles, sheltering folded cots with crisp blue linens. Portable exam lights with long necks curve from the frame, their white casings stark against the muted sky. The ground beneath is packed earth, scattered with faint tire tracks and the shadow of the canopy edge. Along the perimeter, medical supplies rest in organized plastic bins. One red cross emblem on the canopy corner stands out against the gray fabric, marking the space as a place of care. The light reflects softly off the smooth plastic surfaces of the medical equipment.
