Feather Frost Patterns on Mali Windshield Twilight
by Cory Stuart
Steel-blue ambient light from a Mali twilight fills the frame, illuminating intricate frost patterns that resemble delicate feathers on a car windshield. The glass surface displays a network of crystalline structures, each branch spreading with disciplined symmetry against the darkening exterior. Humid air hangs heavy, leaving the surrounding air clear of steam but visible in the condensation clinging to the lower pane edge. The frost transitions from sharp, sharp-edged needles near the center to softer, blurred patches where the glass meets the wiper blades. Dark shadows of the wiper arms press against the lower right corner, at the base of the delicate ice forms in the heavy metal of the vehicle frame. One jagged line of ice traces the curve of the windshield wiper arm.
