Farrier Wiping Hands at Twilight Workshop

Rain-slicked tin roofing reflects the fading violet sky above a small workshop near the Edinburgh riverside. A farrier stands in deep shadow, his face obscured, hands raised to wipe sweat and rain from his palms. Wet leather boots rest on the muddy ground beside a scattering of heavy iron tools. Thin rim light traces the curve of his shoulders and the edge of the corrugated metal, separating him from the dark interior. Puddles around his feet mirror the grey clouds. A heavy canvas apron hangs loosely from his waist, its fabric saturated and dark. The iron shoes on the ground gleam with a wet sheen against the rough stone floor.
