Falcon Lantern in Muscat
First light after rain catches the wet limestone facade of a traditional Omani house in Muttrah, where carved wooden mashrabiya screens cast intricate geometric shadows across the damp street. A brass falcon lantern hangs from a wrought-iron bracket, its surface reflecting the pale morning sky and the blurred motion of a passing dhow in the harbor below. The heavy wooden door is slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of a tiled courtyard with a small fountain, while the street itself is slick with rainwater that mirrors the warm tones of the building's exterior. One drop of water rests on the edge of the lantern's glass panel, trembling before falling onto the stone step below.
