A weathered brass padlock secures the rusted iron bars of a traditional wooden door in the Muttrah Souq. Rain-slicked stone steps glisten under the soft, diffused morning light filtering through the narrow alleyway. A faded blue woven rug hangs loosely from a nearby balcony, its fringed edges damp and heavy with moisture. Water droplets rest on the textured metal shackle, reflecting the pale sky above.
