Golden hour light spills across the wet pavement of a Liverpool laneway, catching the brass rims of stacked metal stools outside a narrow pub entrance. A folded canvas chair sits abandoned near a brick pillar, its fabric faded by salt air. Inside the glass door, fogged window panes blur the warm interior glow, where a lone cup rests on a scarred wooden counter. The streetlamp above flickers on, casting long, distorted shadows that stretch toward the Mersey.
