Elderly Woman Hands in Hangzhou After Storm

Molten copper light spills across the back of an elderly woman, illuminating weathered hands resting on a wet, dark stone railing. Rain-slicked surfaces reflect the clearing sky, while droplets rest on the rough texture of her skin. Behind her, blurred green foliage and traditional tiled roofs fade into the humid monsoon haze. The water on the stone creates small, shimmering pools that catch the fading sun. Deep shadows pool in the creases of her knuckles, against the bright, liquid gold of the side light. at the edge is one drop of water sliding slowly down the curve of her wrist.
