Typewriters and Phones Beside Fish Counter at Dawn

Gray monsoon light falls through wet corrugated tarps, illuminating a row of black typewriters and rotary telephones resting on wooden crates. Mist rests on the surfaces, while fine spice dust hovers in the damp air. Beside these vintage machines, a fish counter displays silver scales glistening under melting ice blocks. Water droplets slide down the curved dials of the phones and pool on the metal trays. Rust spots on the typewriter frames mirror the oxidation on nearby fish hooks hanging from the stall structure. The wet floor reflects the muted sky above. A small puddle forms at the base of a telephone handset, catching the diffused glow.
