Dutch Gouda Vendor Stacking Cheese at Night

Round wheels of aged Gouda with deep orange rinds stack in uneven towers on a wooden counter. The vendor, wearing a dark coat, presses his hands against the cheese to align the wheels. Water droplets bead on the wax surfaces and drip onto the wet wood. Distant street lamps cast a yellow spill across the scene, illuminating the steam rising from the warm cheese against the cool monsoon air. Rain streaks the air in the background, blurring the shapes of other market stalls. The vendor's hands move with practiced precision. one drop of water falls from the edge of a cheese wheel onto the counter below.
