Dust Storm Approaching Pine Forest Hull Twilight in near Kingston upon Hull

Dust Storm Approaching Pine Forest Hull Twilight

by Ellen Patton

Cool blue twilight washes the landscape as city lights from Kingston upon Hull begin to glow in the distance. A massive wall of dust and rain approaches the dense pine forest, its leading edge a sharp, brown line against the darkening sky. The evergreen trees stand rigid, their needles catching the last ambient light before the front breaks. Wet ground reflects the fading sky, while the air looks heavy with moisture and suspended particulate matter. The horizon line stretches wide, separating the darkening woods from the turbulent weather system. One branch in the foreground bends slightly under the weight of falling rain, marking the boundary between the clearing storm and the incoming gale.
