Dusk clouds over Ceará lake in wet season heat

Cool blue twilight washes the horizon above a vast lake in Ceará, casting a soft, uniform glow across the water's surface. Heavy, wet-season clouds stack in layers of indigo and slate, their undersides illuminated by the fading sun. Heat haze shimmers above the distant shoreline, blurring the edge where the water meets the flat, scrubby land. The lake remains still, reflecting the deepening sky with a glassy smoothness. Along the far bank, low vegetation stands dark against the atmospheric light. A faint, distorted ripple near the center suggests the subtle movement of warm air rising from the water, breaking the perfect mirror image just enough to reveal the depth of the blue hour.
