Inside, a stainless steel dish rack overflows with drying ceramic bowls and plastic containers, illuminated by the warm spill of a single overhead bulb. The scene is busy and lived-in, with peonies in a chipped vase adding a splash of pink against the grey concrete. Rain streaks the glass window, blurring the street outside while keeping the interior details sharp and tangible.
