Under the harsh, shadowless glare of Senegalese noon, a narrow alley in Dakar reveals a wall of peeling white plaster scarred by a dark, irregular water mark near the base. A young boy in a faded blue t-shirt crouches beside the stain, his attention fixed on a small, scruffy terrier mixing its tail in the dust. He holds a rusted metal watering can, its spout tilted slightly as if he just paused his chore to watch the dog. The rough texture of the building’s exterior and the bright, bleached concrete of the sidewalk, capturing a quiet, candid moment of rest in the oppressive heat without any artificial staging or forced composition.
