Under a flat, overcast midday sky, a narrow Tunisian alleyway reveals a weathered facade where peeling turquoise paint flakes away to expose rough, sun-bleached plaster beneath. A small, scruffy stray dog stands attentively on the uneven stone paving, its gaze fixed on a nearby shopkeeper who is wiping down a wooden counter. On the counter, a cluster of glass bottles sits near a pile of fresh khobz bread, their surfaces dull and dust-coated from the dry air. The quiet tension between the vibrant, decaying architecture and the mundane, lived-in reality of street commerce, with the dog acting as a silent observer to the daily rhythm of the neighborhood.
