Golden hour light spills across the weathered timber veranda of a Victorian terrace in Hobart, illuminating a scene of quiet domesticity. A Bouvier des Flandres rests its heavy head on a woven rug, eyes half-closed against the warm, low-angle sun that casts long, sharp shadows across the floorboards. Beside the dog, a simple metal towel hook stands anchored to the wall, holding a damp, indigo towel that catches the light with a subtle sheen. In the background, the silhouette of the Derwent River glimmers faintly through the open doorway, while the rough texture of the painted brickwork contrasts with the smooth, polished brass of a wall sconce mounted nearby.
