Mist rests on the damp cobblestones of a narrow Lyon traboule as a delivery cyclist pauses, his frame laden with cardboard boxes and a single wooden chair secured by a frayed rope. The soft, diffused light of dawn reflects off the wet stone, highlighting the texture of the ancient brick arches overhead. A shopkeeper sweeps the entrance of a closed boulangerie, the bristles of his broom kicking up tiny puffs of gray dust. In the background, the silhouette of Fourvière hill fades into the fog, while a solitary streetlamp casts a faint, cool glow on the pavement.
