Crescent Moon Sets Behind Georgia Pines

Silvery winter light spills through thin cloud gaps, illuminating a stand of tall pines against a deep indigo sky. A bright crescent moon hangs low, its curve sharply defined as it descends behind the dark, needle-covered branches. Tiny stars puncture the darkness above the treeline, their faint glow against the moon's brilliance. Low on the horizon, a soft haze blurs the distant landscape, adding depth to the wide panoramic view. The pine needles catch the cool light, appearing almost white at the edges, while the tree trunks anchor the composition in shadow. at the edge is the moon's sharp edge disappearing behind the rough bark of the nearest tree.
