Late summer heat lingers in the air, visible through the steam rising from a nearby vent. Shadows pool in the corners where the light fails to reach, creating deep pools of black. A route manifest lies flat on the surface, its text sharp and legible under the harsh artificial light. The rack rests firmly on the floor, ready for the next shift.
