Congolese Soukous Guitarist Under Thatch in Monsoon

Early evening light reflects off wet surfaces in a Kingston rehearsal room, casting shimmering highlights on a Congolese guitarist standing at the edge of the frame. The musician strums a sunburst electric guitar beneath a palm-thatch bandstand ceiling that filters the dim glow. Monsoon fog fills the air, softening the outlines of wooden support beams and creating a hazy depth along the walls. Moisture beads on the thatch fibers and the polished floor, while the reflected water light traces the curves of the instrument and the texture of the natural roofing materials. The musician leans forward, fingers moving across the fretboard, with the soft glow of reflected light resting on the guitar body and the edge of the frame.
