Cool yellow light from distant street lamps spills across wet stone pavement in a temple courtyard near Lucknow. Four musicians in bright Colombian cumbia attire stand on the damp ground, their instruments reflecting the ambient glow. Recent rain left ancient stone surfaces slick and dark, with water pooling in the crevices of the carvings. Towering arches of the temple rise behind the performers, their intricate details fading into the deep night shadows. The plaza stretches back in layers, receding into darkness beyond the reach of the street lamps. Musicians hold their positions, framed by the cool light against the humid night air. A wet patch on the foreground stone mirrors the faint, flickering light from a distant bulb.
