Coated Cotton Coats and Shoes in Lome Atelier

Cool warehouse fluorescents cast a stark, blue-white light across rows of coated cotton outerwear hanging from a metal rack. Deep shadows pool along the floor where spare shoes line up in neat rows beneath the rail, their soles catching faint reflections from the runway spill. The turn of seasons shows in the heavy weight of the fabrics and the contrast between the warm interior shadows and the cold artificial light. One coat sleeve drapes slightly forward, its edge catching the light against the dark background. The metal frame of the rack stands rigid beside the shoes resting quietly on the concrete floor.
